1. In the patient record, click Add.

2. Click Data using Template.

3. In the Template Picker, search for and select Diary Recall Template (v18.7) (Ardens).

4. In the pop-up, ensure the consultation type reflects the process (usually Administrative note), then click OK.

5. The diary recall template will open. Use the pages on the left to navigate. Existing alerts will appear on the main page.

6. If bloods are needed, click Investigations – Bloods, select the required tests, and add a future date. You can add optional text for context if needed.

7. For other investigations, click Investigations – Other, select what’s required, and add a recall date (for GPC this must be more than one month).

8. If a follow-up injection is required, click Medication Administration, select the appropriate item, and add a date.

9. For forward-dated reviews (e.g. depression interim review), click Interim Follow-ups and add the required date(s).

10. Once all recall events have been added, click Save.

11. Recall tasks are now scheduled for the recalls team — no further action is needed. You can view diary recalls from the Diary tab.

12. The scheduled recall events can be seen here in the Diary view.

13. The Consultations tab will also show the diary recall events as an audit log.
