This guide explains how to send, route and manage clinical Tasks so messages reach the right team and patient file, and how to mark urgency for time-sensitive referrals.
Task creation
1. Click the "Task" icon in the toolbar.
💡 If the Task is regarding a certain patient, ensure that patient's file is loaded when sending the Task.
2. Task menu overview.
3. To send the Task to the correct Team: select the "Team" button, then double-click and search for the team you want (e.g. Results, Secretaries, Reception, or Duty Reception).
4. How to set a Task as urgent (important for 2WW referrals).
💡 Before sending, check: the recipient, the correct patient is selected, the message, and the flag (urgent or not).
5. Click Ok once happy with your Task.
How to find your Tasks
6. A new Task will appear like this when you get assigned one.
7. Double-click to see your Tasks. The number shown reflects how many Tasks are assigned to you.
How to process your Tasks
8. Here is the Task manager — you can filter to see Tasks only for you.
9. If the Task has a patient attached, right-click on the Task and select Retrieve Patient to open their file.
10. To complete the Task: right-click on it and change the Status to Complete.
⚠️ Once marked as 'Completed', a Task cannot be undone and will be removed from the Task Manager.
