This guide shows how to find key patient information quickly in SystmOne — notes, meds, allergies, letters, and test results.

Tabbed Journal (consultation notes)

1. Overview of the Tabbed Journal.

2. Navigate to "Tabbed Journal" in the Clinical Tree.

The Tabbed Journal is a structured, organised view of everything recorded in a patient's clinical record, split into separate tabs by type.

3. Click the "Everything" tab to view information from all sources. Use the search bar to search for specific details.

4. Here is an example of a consultation — showing a referral created, a CT AP request, and a remote consultation.

Medications and repeat medications (Repeat Templates)

5. View Medications in the Medications section of the Clinical Tree.

6. Open the dropdown to filter the medications.

7. Navigate to "Repeat Templates" in the sidebar to view current Repeat Medications.

Where to find allergies

8. View allergies in the Clinical Tree.

Clinical documents and letters

9. Find clinic letters and documents in Communications & Letters in the Clinical Tree. To view a letter, right-click and select View Content.

Diagnostic Investigations

10. "Pathology & Radiology" is where you find blood tests, XR reports, and all pathology/radiology results. Expand it in the sidebar to see subcategories, or use Filter by Type at the top.

11. Open the dropdown to filter by type of report.

12. To see blood test trends: expand Pathology & Radiology in the Clinical Tree, then select Haematology, Biochemistry, etc.

How to Start and Save/Discard a Consultation

13. Click here to start a consultation.

14. This is the consultation box where you will write the consultation up. See "How to Record a Consultation" for further details.

15. Click "Discard" to close the patient record and discard any consultations started. Click "Save" to close and keep any changes.
